Short description
Fireline is an arcade flying game for iPhone. You fly a small water bomber, scoop water off a lake and drop it on wildfires, with dispatch and a lead pilot talking you through it on the radio.
Long description
Fireline puts you in the seat of the FB-415, a small water bomber. Skim a lake to fill the tank, find the smoke, and drop the whole load in one low pass. Then do it again before the wind turns.
Two voices are with you the whole time. Nadia Roy runs dispatch at Pine Base and tells you what’s burning and where. Hal Brennan flies the lead plane, tells you how to fly it, and has opinions about your last drop.
The game is one fire season told in ten stories, each inspired by fire country somewhere in the world. The places and fires are made up. There is a check ride to learn the controls, a hangar for upgrades, and one secret level that isn’t on the list.
It’s built for one hand and a few minutes at a time: left thumb flies, right thumb drops.
